What is the Future Continuous Tense?
The Future Continuous Tense refers to an action going on at some time in the future.
Example: I shall be writing a book then.
When I get home, my children will be sleeping.
Future Continuous Tense means ‘I will be in the middle of doing something.’
For example: The film begins at 3.00 pm and ends at 5.30 pm. So, at 4.00 pm, I will be watching the film.

What is the Structure of the Future Continuous Tense?
At 9 o’clock tomorrow, Sue will be in the park. She will be walking.
She + will be +verb-ing
(subject) + (helping verb) + (walking)
This is an action (walking) that will be in progress at a specific time in the future.

What do you use the Future Continuous Tense for?
- When we want to talk about an ongoing action at a specific time in the future.
Example: This time next week, I will be participating in the drawing competition.
- When we refer to a temporary action in the future. It denotes an action that will happen for a limited time; hence, it is not permanent.
Example: The soldier will be staying with his family for two weeks.
- When we want to ask a question about future plans, we use the future continuous tense.
Example: Will you be having a cup of tea for breakfast tomorrow?
- When two actions are happening at the same time in the future.
Example: While I will be reading a book, my sister will be cooking.
