3. Setting: This refers to the time and place in which the story takes place. The setting should be explained so that the reader can visualize the story.
4. Theme: Every story conveys a central idea. Human experiences of love, hate, or loss are narrated. Themes can be complex and have depth. Moreover, other elements of the story must relate to the theme.
5. Point of view: This refers to the perspective from which the story is told. The narrator uses “I” or “we”, hence first person. The narrator may focus on the thoughts of another character. The narrator can be a third person who knows the thoughts of other characters.
6. Dialogue: The conversation between the story’s characters reveals their personalities and relationships. It can help to develop tension, humor, and conflict in the story. Dialogue has tone, styles, and vocabulary to show different characters.

9. Resolution: It is the climax or ending of the story. It leaves the reader with a sense of completion as the character’s journey ends.

One day Smita and her friends went hiking for a little change of scenery. They wanted to explore the dense forests, vast meadows, and gentle rolling hills. Smita walked through the winding footpath and didn’t realize how far she had traveled. As they climbed uphill, she slipped behind, taking tour of the lush green forest. Suddenly when she looked back her friends were unseen. She was scared to death. She shouted their name, but there was silence. Then she remembered the map she had in bag. She gathered the mettle to face the ordeal and traced her way back by looking at the signs and landmarks. Finally, she spotted her friends. She bursted into tears. Her friends hugged her and were grateful to be together again.
